Introduction

The books of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi are often overlooked, but are vital for understanding the Bible’s story. They are the final voices of prophecy in the Old Testament, speaking to a community that had returned from exile, but was struggling to see God’s promises fulfilled.

This series on the post-exilic prophets is meant to help us experience God’s transformation through authentic discipleship and intentional disciple-making. We’re not settling for merely dishing out more information. ​

The studies are not overly technical, so that CGs can handle the material and benefit from it. ​

Also, we will not cover Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi comprehensively (it’s not possible). Some CGs may want to challenge themselves and study passages not in this series – feel free to do as God leads.​

It is our prayer that through this series we will all love God and His Word more. Thus, as we study His Word, let’s also take time to worship, pray, reflect, share authentically with one another, and act on what we have learnt. That’s how growth happens!
