Wow! What a Church!
Introduction
1. Wow! What a church at Thessalonica!
“And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.” (v.7, NIV)
2. In what ways was the church in Thessalonica a model church?
3. There are two distinguishing marks of “Wow! What a church!”:
A. A CHURCH THAT IS TOTALLY TRANSFORMED BY THE GOSPEL (vv.5b-7,10)
“…for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit” (v.6)
B. A CHURCH THAT IS FAITHFULLY PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL (vv.8-9)
“… but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere … how you turned to God from idols to serve … and to wait for His Son …” (vv.8, 9)
Conclusion
May Jesus be the Passion of the Church.
