Introduction

What does extraordinary care look like to you?

Jesus’ model of service shows us that:

A. LOVE IS SURPRISING (vv. 1-7)

“Jesus … having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” (v. 7b)

B. LOVE IS PURPOSEFUL (vv. 8-11)

“Jesus answered him, ‘If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.’” (v. 8b)

C. LOVE IS A CALLING (vv. 12-17)

“If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” (v. 17)

Conclusion

Make loving service a pattern of our lives.
