Introduction

Genesis 3 records for us how humans decided to take the fruit of the knowledge of Good and Evil. Instead of accepting that what God says is good and not good, we decided we wanted to make our own decision about that. After this event, our journey of shame began.

Shame is the earliest negative emotion recorded in the Bible, occurring in Genesis 3:7 after they ate the forbidden fruit, in contrast to a state of innocence in Genesis 2:25. Shame perhaps can be considered a malfunctioning moral compass, prone to overreaction and underperforming.
