Introduction

Recap: The overall preaching structure for the book of Leviticus

In Leviticus chapters 1-3, we looked at the first three types of offerings (burnt, grain and fellowship), which were voluntarily given by the Old Covenant People of God in their worship of God. These gave us a picture of our God as the Holy God who is All-Deserving, All-Providing and All-Welcoming.

Leviticus chapters 4-7 cover the fourth and fifth types of offerings (sin and guilt), which are mandatory when God’s people sin against Him and one another. These give us a picture of our God as:

A. THE HOLY GOD WHO IS ALL-FORGIVING: THE SIN OFFERING (Lev 4:1-5:13; 6:24-30)

B. THE HOLY GOD WHO IS ALL-RESTORING: THE GUILT OFFERING (Lev 5:14-6:7; 7:1-10)

Conclusion
Jesus Christ offered the costliest sacrifice for all our sins and guilt. Therefore let us no longer live for ourselves, but for Him!
