Introduction 

Recap on the five discourses.
Chapters 8 and 9 being on the authority of Jesus.

Matthew 9:9-34 speaks of “Our Merciful God” in terms of:

A. THE MERCY GOD DESIRES (vv.12-14)

“Go and learn what this means ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.“ (v.13)

B. THE MERCY JESUS DISPENSES (vv.18-34)

Three healings as presented by Matthew:
Pair 1 – Jarius daughter / bleeding woman (vv.18-26)
Pair 2 – Two blind men (vv.27-31)
Solo – One mute man (vv.31-34)

Three aspects of the mercy Jesus dispenses:
1. Mercy without qualification
2. Mercy without limitation
3. Mercy without formulation

Conclusion 
Jesus is Calling: “Follow Me.” Would I say Yes?
