Bukit Panjang Move to ACS(I)

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
– Proverbs 16:9

Dear BPJ Covenanters,

I know many of us have prepared ourselves mentally for the move to ACS(I) and the Korean church planned on 1st March. Leaders and servers have also made many plans on serving at the new venues. Thank you all for flying in formation with us on this journey.

However, due to the complexities and challenges of this large-scale building project, more time is needed in the evaluation phase. Hence, as part of responsible stewardship, we have decided to postpone the move to the first weekend of June.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and please know that we communicated this to the congregation as soon as was practicable.

We are grateful for your patience with us as we navigate these unexpected changes. We believe that God will continue to shine His favour on us as He has done throughout this process. We rest in His timing and are assured this is His Will for us.

We ask for your continued prayers for the executive team and building team. We receive and believe in God’s promises; in His Provision of aid for us in this time and for wisdom and discernment in following His lead and preparing the way.

Continually journeying alongside you,

Rev Edmund Wong
Centre Overseer

Big Picture

This decision was made as more time was needed in the evaluation phase of the building project, due to unforeseen challenges, caused by managing a project of this scale. We will share more at the upcoming AGM in April. We understand that many have made special arrangements for the move and apologise for those affected. It will continue to be business as usual until first weekend of June.

No, congregations will be moving to different temporary venues based on their specific needs.

Those listed will be moving to ACS(I):
* English congregation (adults)
* Children’s ministries (Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Lower Primary, Upper Primary)
* Youth (ages 13-18)
* Filipino Fellowship
* Indonesian Fellowship

Moving to Other Venues:
* Mandarin congregation – Korean Church in Singapore
* Hokkien congregation – Korean Church in Singapore

We are going through Additions & Alterations efforts to adapt to the changing needs of our community. As such, to minimise disruption, support the togetherness of families and preserve our community – we have decided to move to a temporary location. This move helps us preserve and protect these vital connections.

We’re targeting to return to the upgraded BPJ Centre by the end of Q3 2028 at the latest (by June 2028).
We’ll keep the congregation updated as the A&A (Addition & Alteration) works progress and provide more specific timelines closer to the completion date.

Main Service & TNG

Due to space constraints, we don’t have a designated cry room. However, we’ve set aside Section A2 (back rows, left side) as a family-friendly area for parents with young children and infants.
This section provides:

  • Easy access to exits if you need to step out
  • A more comfortable space for families with little ones

Yes, check-in is still required for all TNG Children programs.

Check-in Locations:
LPUP (Lower Primary Upper Primary): Level 1 Registration Counter
Toddler & Preschool: Level 4 Registration Counter (B4 rooms area)

Please proceed to the appropriate registration counter based on your child’s program before the service begins. The “Check-in” counts to their attendance.

TNG Youth CG meets from 12:30pm to 2:00pm in allocated classrooms. Some groups may also meet in open spaces within the school compound.

For specific classroom assignments and meeting locations, please check with your respective DMKs.

Mandarin & Hokkien

Each congregation has unique needs based on their demographics and circumstances, which we’ve carefully considered in selecting the most suitable temporary venues.

Mandarin and Hokkien Congregations → Korean Church in Singapore

* Smaller congregation sizes that fit well within the Korean Church facilities

* Prioritizes ease of access and shorter traveling distances for their members

English Congregation → ACSI

* Larger congregation size requires more extensive facilities

* ACSI provides the necessary space and amenities to accommodate families, youth, and children’s ministries

By choosing venues tailored to each congregation’s requirements, we can better serve all our members during this transition period.

The Hokkien worship service will be held on Saturdays, at 5:30 pm.

The Mandarin worship service will be held on Sundays, at 4:30 pm.

This adjustment in service time is necessary due to availability of the premises.
