Deeper Reflection
CAN YOU HEAR OUR KING JESUS COMMANDING HIS CHURCH, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (v.19)? In obeying, we expect that we will be taunted by adversaries, tested by adversities and face trials of various kinds. Nonetheless, we must trust in our sovereign and faithful God, and courageously go forth to make disciples! Is this a compelling call for you?Can you hear in heaven the vast multitude from every nation crying out, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Rev 7:10)? Do you desire to see your (currently) non-Christian family member, relative, neighbour, colleague or favourite hawker in future stand next to you in that brilliant light and glorious sight, worshipping Jesus the King? Is this something you long to see and will do something about?As we emerge from the pandemic and look forward as a church, it is imperative that we desperately cry out to the Lord our God for mercy upon the generations of non-Christians. Would you make the words from this contemporary song your heartfelt prayer:⁴

Heal my heart and make it clean Open up my eyes to the things unseen Show me how to love like You have loved me Break my heart for what breaks Yours Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause As I walk from earth into eternity
