Our Mission: The General Counseling & Financial Assistance Team

The Team is an initiative designed to provide general counselling and financial assistance to regular worshippers and members of Covenant Evangelical Free Church who have been affected by the economic downturn.

Our Profile & Services

The General Counselling & Financial Assistance team comprises of qualified practitioners with least 5 years of experience within the counselling and social work arena.

During this downturn, we would like to extend care and assistance and resilience to help you ride through this trying period .It is our hope desire that through these efforts, you and your family are further encouraged and empowered to become self-reliant in the long run.

1. Care
If you need emotional or psychological support during this trying period, we are here to provide personal counselling and care. Where necessary, we will assist you by being a source of referral to external agencies for further assistance. In addition, we may also conduct group sessions to equip those in need to cope effectively with life’s trials and stresses.

2. Resilience
If you are facing financial difficulties due to unemployment, we can assist you through financial assistance*. We hope to provide temporary relief to you and your family you to tide you through this challenging period!

* Intended as only for a short term period and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How Do I Apply?

You are not alone during this challenging period! Get in touch with the General Counselling & Financial Assistance Team and allow us to journey with you together.

1a) Complete the application form and email or mail to the Project Help Team for processing. Physical copies of this form are also made available at our Bukit Panjang or Woodlands centre on Sundays.
1b) Alternatively, referrals can also be done by the following personnel:
• Church pastors;
• Heads or leaders of ministries;
• Cell group leaders and Disciple group leaders;
• Board members; and
• Sunday Service Teams’ host masters & in-charges.

2) Upon receipt of your duly completed application form, a counselor or social worker from the team shall be in touch with you within 14 days. You can help us to expedite the process by furnishing the following information:

• Personal particulars of family member(s);
• Average monthly household income & expenses;
• Medical condition of family member(s);
• Any other such applications to other agencies or bodies; and
• Reasons for such applications.

3) To be eligible for the Financial Assistance scheme, you should be currently facing financial hardship due to valid reasons such as a job loss. All applications are subjected to approval on a case-by-case basis.

4) As and when necessary, we will assist to be a source of referral to external agencies for further assistance.
