Covenant Membership

Why should you consider becoming a member of Covenant Evangelical Free Church?

  1. It identifies you as a genuine believer (Eph 2:19; Rom 12:5)
  2. It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage you in your walk with Christ (Gal 6:1-2; Heb 10:24-25)
  3. It gives you a place to discover and use your spiritual gifts in ministry (1 Cor 12:3-27)
  4. It places you under the spiritual protection of godly leaders (Heb 13:17; Acts 20:28-29)
  5. It gives you the accountability you need to grow (Eph 5:21)

A Member's Covenant

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and having been baptized, and being in agreement with COVENANT EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH's Statements of faith, Philosophy of Ministry and Leadership, I am led by the Holy Spirit to unite with COVENANT'S family. In doing so I commit myself to God and to the other members of this family to do the following:

  1. I will commit myself to a weekly fellowship and ministry in a Covenant Group using my spiritual gifts to edify and serve one another. (Eph 4:11-12; Phil 2:3-4,7; 1 Peter 4:10)
  2. I will commit myself to support the testimony of the church by regular tithing, attendance and godly living. (Lev 27:30; Phil 1:27)
  3. I will commit myself to pray regularly for my leaders, Covenant Group members and for my non-Christian friends and family members(2 Thes 3:1; 2 Thes 1:11)
  4. I will commit myself to share my faith creatively and regularly that others may come to know Christ. (Luk 14:23; 1 Tim 2:3-4)

Pre-requisites and Application

Membership Pre-requisites:

  1. Already baptized
  2. Already in a Small Group (Nurture Group, CG or DG)
  3. Already in Covenant for at least 6 months or more
  4. Already attended or going to attend the Breakthrough Weekend
  5. Minimum age 21 years old

Baptism Pre-requisites:

  1. Minimum age 18 years old
